I've been away from the board for a while but working hard to clean my reports.

I refinanced my house from an outrageous 12.65 to 8.00 and paid off a Cap 1 charge off.

Cap 1 finally updated my Equifax report and my score shot up from 642 to 689!

Now I just need to get the other two CRA to update their files.

    Happy day!

    Congratulations!

Question for you.. was the 12.65% a first loan, or a second loan? I just haven't heard of any 30 year loan being that high. If it's a second loan, then that wouldn't be unusual.

It was a first---I can't believe I EVER agreed to do this. It was prior to coming this board and I was SO
ignorant. I have learned so much from reading stuff here.

I am hoping to buy a new home this summer with a close to prime rate.
