Equifax ScorePower

    I'm fuming mad.

On 10/21/01 I ordered Equifax's Scorepower Subscription with which you are to have access to four Scorepowers (credit profile + FICO score and reasons).

On 10/23/01 they received their money ($38.85) for the transaction from my bank account.

At that time I got one ScorePower to look at.

Last week I went to the web site and tried to get the 2nd one (out of the four) and it said I had ZERO remaining!

Wrote to Equifax three times since then via customer.care@equifax.com and have called once. Each time they tell me that I DID NOT order Scorepower Subscription. One of their e-mails trys to tell me I ordered Credit Watch (which is a different price-not the price they debited from my account) and that I had 5 remaining of those. I looked at the site again and NO CreditWatch profiles were listed in any subscription and it still says ZERO ScorePower Subscriptions remaining when I should have THREE left.

I have all the evidence that I did, indeed, order ScorePower, including the debit made from my account, the original transaction # provided by Equifax, and the first Scorepower I did have access to directly after I ordered the Subscription.

And still they will not budge and give me what I paid for.

Can anyone recommend what I do next? I will likely complain to the Consumer Affairs Div. of my State but if you have any other recommendations I'd be interested to hear them.

    Mist.

I would dispute the charge with my credit card company. You must do this in writing, per your card agreement. Cap One will take it over the phone, however, I think they tell you to write out your reasons and mail it.

    Breeze,
I used a debit card (Check Link) to pay for this so it came right out of my checking account. Live and learn...

Anyone have any other ideas as to how I can pursue Equifax for not fullfilling my paid order?

If it's a VISA or MC I think you still have the right to dispute if you did not receive what you ordered. Call your 800# and ask. It's a VISA/MC rule about disputing charges, not a bank rule.

Sounds like a deal where they place A Neg. on your report for not paying for something you don't owe in order to lower your Fico score and jack up your rates.
