My pay stub only has my employer's name and my name & ss. I sent Equifax a copy of my ss card and a Notarized Statement verifying current address. I call today to see why they have not updated my address. The girl tells me on the phone that the info that I sent them is unacceptable. I tell her that is exactly what your letter from EQ asks me for and that is what I provided. she tells me that I need something like a utiltity bill and that she knows nothing about the letter and its contents. and that the information I sent her was not enought to update my address. what do I do about this ?? This is ridiculous. I really what to blast these people out of the water!!! Would anyone know of a really good letter to sent them about this situation. somthing that will put a fire under the ass to do the right thing and abide by there own rules. kathy
I got the same response from Equifax when the name and address information in my dispute letter didn't exactly match the name and address information in my credit file. Make sure that the name and address (capitalization, punctuation, initials, abbreviations, etc) match the identifying information exactly. I simply sent Equifax a corrected letter and they initiated the dispute for me. Equifax could also ask for identification if there is a fraud alert on your credit file. yzf600rk
