Wee!! really strange though as I have had collections removed with nary a change in score over the last couple of months, then one old--5 + years old account removed and 50 points. Don't understand it but hey I am not complaining !
"New to this.....My first time" On my Equifax report alot of the items are over 7 years old. The date of last activity is over 7 years ('94 or '95) that is one thing I see that catches my eye. So, what will be my next step?????? They are charge-offs, collection account, or sold/ transferred. My question is do I dispute or request validation and is that with the Equifax or with the creditor themselves?????????
Congratulations!! I just had one collections deleted, and my score hasn't changed, yet it dropped when the collection was added.
Thanks "kittie" Now just to verify this letter is going directly to Equifax not the creditor or collection agency correct?
Yes to Equifax. I have had luck with Equifax deleting item automatically after the reporting limit is up from what they list as the date of last activity.
