I disputed an account I have w/ Bank of America that reported neg (late) and also spoke w/ a rep at BofA. I checked Privista today and happy day--Bank of America is showing always current, zero lates so that's great. The rep apparently corrected it. However, in the meantime I'd contacted Equifax to dispute it, since at the time the BofA rep didn't sound like she was doing anything--just sort of said she'd done what she could (and apparently somehow removed the late notation unbeknownst to me!). This afternoon I called Equifax back to let them know the issue/dispute was resolved and they are so clueless it is scary. I tried to explain there is no need for an investigation, that it's corrected and the EQ rep had no idea what I was talking about. The rep at EQ also said they couldn't stop the investigation--I'm like, wait, I am the person who requested, can't I stop it?! I guess my fear is that they might send it back to Bank of America and they'll add back the late notation!!!! She also said they had never heard of Privista and thought I was making this whole thing up...My cordless phone went dead and I just gave up. I am grateful the BofA late notation is gone, but I just hope that I haven't stirred up a can of worms.
