I disputed my Providian chargeoff because others said they had had some luck. Anyway, it came back verified today, what is my next step?

Wait a month or 2 and dispute it again.

This brings up again my question from yesterday in which Equifax verifies something yet the other two CRA's delete. Is Equifax REALLY verifying or just saying so.....any other experiences? I suppose that I am asking a procedural question which is, how can two delete and one verify? It seems to me that if the other two CRA's were unable to verify and delete.....what is Equifax doing differently?

That is a good question....I had a open collection account that Equifax verified and the other two bureaus couldn't and deleted! What is up with that??

It takes too much work to VERIFY...and you WON'T complain if they say they did verify (even if they don't)...and it remains...

I was told for SECURITY REASONS...only one person is allowed to respond about your account, and that is the only person who can change your account with the CRA'S...

You might WRITE OR CALL that one person and ask if the CRA contacted them...90%+/- they NEVER DID!!!

So calling rather than just disputing online is the best way to handle this situation?

George, are you saying that only one person in any organization is responsible for verifications with the CRA's? For example, MBNA would only have one person responding for the entire bank? Just curious. If that is the case, it sure would benefit you to know who that majic person is in a situation like this.

That is what I was told...

ALTHOUGH MBNA AMERICA might have one per "REGION" SINCE THEY ARE SO BIG...

    http://www.mbna.com/a_car_locations.html

I got INSTANT answer once...by FAXING the "REGIONAL" office...(< 2 HOURS)

I ACTUALLY TALKED TO THE REGIONAL VP...I THINK...(AT LEAST THE OFFICE OF THE REGIONAL VP)...

guys, I have a ?, I disputed a CA item online with equifax, 3 days later, I got a email back, that this item was "checked" and replaced the status "unpaid" on the report, they also updated the status to 6/2002.... does checked mean verified? I think it does, but why did it replace unpaid?
    thanks

they also didnt include any info on their incredible speedy verification process, nothing was listed when I doubled click,,
