Has anyone had this problem. I pulled my Equifax report on-line last night and received a hard copy in the mail today. The information is not the same. Some of the same accounts have conflicting balances, there is a collection account listed on the on-line version, but not on the hard copy. Is Equifax maintaining different files is different divisions? Is there a separate phone number to dispute the web version? The on-line dispute is not available to me at this time. Another strange thing, I had a judgment deleted from my report and my score dropped almost 100 points. Last month is was 693, with the judgment, last night it was 591 with out the judgment. Huh? I'll never figure out how they reach their scores.
A plausible answer to your burning bush question might be that they seem to be less than well informed either. LOL
Ever stop to think that they don't want you figure it out.I'm begining to think they are rigging the system to reflect artifically low scores to use as an excuse to charge higher loan and insurance rates.== ============
Funny, I called Equifax on this today. The rep told me that it is possible for the web version of you report to be different from a copy you receive in the mail. Yeah right. So I put into dispute all of the items that were incorrect, right then & there over the phone. Mostly it was account balances. About $4000.00 worth. It will be interesting to see how reducing my debt by this amount will affect my score.
Mr. Brown: If one were to use historical evidence, one might easily conclude that it will probably reduce your score by apporximately the amount you mention above. i.e. 4000 points, thereby leaving you in the proverbial hole. (LOL)
