I haven't applied for and been turned down for much credit recently. But it has occurred to me that if I want to sue CAs/OCs etc for incorrect reporting or procedures, I should probably have been turned down for something first. What would be good ways to place myself in situations where damages can be reasonably proven?
Something that would give you a decrease in the amount of interest that you currently pay, like car/home refinance. That is simple to calculate and see the damage.
Thanks for that tip. In my situation, I'm thinking it won't help.. I have no debt except around $3K on a credit card at a reasonable 9.75% APR. I was thinking of applying for a car, etc..
Hmmm. Something else that just popped into mind would be the long-term savings I could get through home ownership.. something difficult if not impossible with a 562 Equifax FICO.
Well, try for a card that offers a teaser rate, 0% for xx months, etc. Apply for a job with higher salary and get denied based on credit (that's real clear cut, lol) Or apply for a mortgage that would be less than what you pay in rent (I am running out of ideas, lol)
Well, Its not unusual to get damages for being turned down for a credit card... Its not unusual to be turned down for an auto loan... O.k. I couldnt resist.. but you need to be careful with this. Do a search here as the topic has been addressed before.
