Does anyone have this atuo insurance?? Their rates seem very very reasonable, and I am curious if anyone has used them or currently carry this insurance?? Thanks
I had esurance (argonaut ins co) for a while last year, they were much much cheaper than GEICO, I had a 2000 Neon, and paid 400 for 6 mos full coverage in MD, and my fiancee' whom is 19 now, just cancelled her policy, b/c we got a policy together at AMEX ins co. Oh, I had a claim with Esurance, and there was no problem at all getting them to pay! They are very reliable in my opinion, and rates could not be beat at the time (but now they pull Equifax)..to put it into perspective, my fiancee has a 2002 Eclipse, and GEICO wanted to charge her $2000.00 for 6 mos, and ALLSTATE wanted $1300.00, esurance only wanted 770.00! Keep in mind she had no violations or accidents, but we just cancelled our esurance policies when AMEX let us get a policy together and it was even cheaper, so try AMEX insurance as well, we pay: My 2002 Mazda Truck $168.00 for 6 mos Her 2002 Eclipse $366.00 for 6mos, that is with Full coverage and a $50.00 deductible!! Hope my opinion helps! Arthur
We've had AmEx insurance since last year. We since had a small claim and they found used parts for our vehicle in another state and would only pay that amount for them - but of course they didn't include shipping - and when you're shipping auto body parts, it can get expensive. We found parts locally but had to put our own money towards the bill since they refused to pay the amount that we were charged - they would only pay the price for the parts they found 3 states away. We gave them 3 quotes which were over $2000 apart and we went with the body shop with the lowest quote - and they still gave us less than the quote, so we had to pay out of pocket (in addition to the deductible). Plus we had a rental vehicle and now they don't want to pay for all of that, even though our policy plainly states 30 day rental coverage. I was tickled pink when we were saving nearly $1000 a year on insurance with American Express, but their claims service is sorely lacking and NOT customer friendly. My sister is an auto insurance adjuster with another company and even she thinks that this is bad treatment - she was stunned when I told her they didn't want to pay for the whole rental even though they said to get one and we have coverage for it. The body shop had our vehicle for 2 weeks and they only want to pay for 5 days. I am NOT happy with their service thus far. Ozzy.
Thanks for the information - Ozzyburger! I know that AMEX insurance solicited me some months back - which prompted me to call my GEICO# and ask them about the "low" AMEX offer price. I was considering switching because of the AMEX name and reputation. This is good info - do you want to hassle to save a few bucks? Later - I know Breeze works at GEICO - I feel they are a great company if you have a good driving record. arrfff - dogman
dogman - well to be honest, to save $1000/year, yeah I'd still take the hassle <g>... was with Allstate for nearly 12 years and rate wise, was treated horribly since I got the policy when I was 19. They stuck me on Allstate Indemnity - which is higher rates. But when I turned 25 or 30 they never reduced my rates and refused to take me out of Indemnity, even though I'd had no tickets and no claims. So for saving $1000/year, I'm still glad I went with Am Ex for the savings - but to be fair, I guess Allstate would probably have been difficult as well, but possibly not as bad, since I had a local agent. Am Ex never sent anyone to look at our vehicle or requested pictures - they just took our word (and that of the body shop) on the extent of the damage, since there was no local office. I guess if the vehicle would have been a total loss it would have been different. And just an FYI - AmEx pulled TU (I'm in PA). Ozzy.
