Eugene Cooke was such a big help for me at Capital One recently. He helped me unsecure my Capital One credit card and lowered my interest rate from 19.9% to 15.9% (altough it is by far the worst interest rate of any of my cards). I was wondering if there was someone of similar stature and influence working at American Express? Does anyone have a contact name and telephone number for someone who might be able to fix some things for me at AMEX?

There doesn't seem to be. I have a problem with my Amex account that customer service hasn't been able to resolve. I tried planetfeedback, and my letter was forwarded to the customer service email team instead.

I had really good luck writing a letter to the head honchos at their executive offices and then a very helpful woman called me back. The only problem is I didn't get her name or phone number. I sent a letter through the same channels this time. If I get her name and number I will be sure to let everyone know who it is. I just thought someone else would have had someone else in mind.

When I received my Amex Blue, the lowest rate offered at that time was 10.99%. When they started offering the 9.99%, I called several times and spoke with customer service and supervisors. No one could lower the rate without opening a new account. I asked for Executive Services and believe I was transferred. I didn't get the name of the guy I spoke to either, but he was very nice and explained that they are trying to update their system so they are able to change APR rates.
Several months later, my rate was automatically lowered to 7.99%.
I think most in the Executive services department are very good about trying to help the customer and in my case, they are great with follow-up.
