Mr. Cooke rocks!! I've had good service with Capital One and Eugene Cooke has always been helpful when I need his services. Keep up the good work Mr. Cooke!!!! EdG
Mr. Cooke is the man. Helped me get rid of a CAp1 acount that was not mine. Called me within 15 minutes of using PFB!!! thx
I say that we take up a collection and send them each a fruit basket for the holidays. Or how about just plain old Johnny Walker Black? At least this way they'll really good when they're helping us.
EUGENE COOKE IS COOOOOLL!! Even though....he *wasn't able* to help me. Cool? ....yes, Ms. xxxxx, I realize that by not removing this 6 year old charge off from your credit report that you might have to put off finishing your college education because you will not qualify for the loans that you need to finish that college education..... ....yes, Ms. xxxx, we were paid when we sold your account to another company 6 years ago.....but I still can't help you..... ....yes, Ms. xxxx, blah blah blah..... "Oh Eugene, pleeeaaaase!!!! My babies need milk!!!!!!!!.....yes, Ms. xxxx, I realize that your children are starving, but...... Oh yeah, he's nice, professional, even tempered, but he will do only those things that get his company money. Yes I will unsecure your card so that you can charge more and we can make more money off of you..... I do not believe for a minute that he is a "nice guy." Sorry if I high-jacked your thread. I just couldn't resist. Sirrowan
Eugene Cooke is AWESOME! With his help, I got my Cap1 Platinum C/L raised from $500 to $1,500! BTW, how often can we ask him for other favors (ie. - APR decrease, unsecuring a card, etc.). Thanks!
A gentle reminder for Sirrowan: I created this thread for the express purpose of singing Eugene's praises. Let's please remain on topic. Thank you. Doc
I agree he is "nice guy", "awesome", "fantastic" but... he gives out CL increases and APR decreases and people think it's something... when you apply for credit with "normal" company you get immediately "normal" credit line and "normal" APR so you don't have to call anybody. Mr. Cooke is nice guy, but Capital One is BS.
Here's my testimonial. On more than one occasion he went way beyond the regular customer service reps with respect to lowering my APRs and raising my LOCs on both Cap 1 cards. Moreover, he upgraded one to Platinum for me without my even asking, which was a nice surprise. If you were to ask me to describe Mr. Cooke, I would have to say that he is useful, favorable, helpful, beneficial, advantageous, salutary, propitious, beneficent, and benignant. I also find that he is characterized by kindness and concern for others and conveys a warm, humane, benevolent, chivalrous, humanitarian, and bighearted regard for others. Moreover, he is obviously able, capable, skilled, competent, skillful, proficient, adept, and qualified. In short, he meets with my liking mainly because he is a nice, pleasant, favorable, welcome, agreeable, pleasing, gratifying, and even pleasurable person with whom to deal. Doc
I second that. =) He is very capable of fullfilling reasonable/realistic requests, and also this helps project a better image of Capital One. Of course I would not have had a chance to deal with him if it was not for finding this message board and again I extend many thanks.
I repeat everything Doc said. My experience with Eugene has been exceptional. He made Cap1 look like a knight in shining armor compared to Providian's response to my same requests. They (Providian) ended up looking like the schmuck who cleans up after the knight's horse. I'm only keeping my GetSmart card to use as an ice scraper for my car this winter.
How embarrassing! I left out the fact that Mr. Cooke remains cognizant of and comprehends the needs, feelings, problems, and views of others. In that respect, he is understanding, empathic, compassionate, and commiserative. Even better, though, he is friendly, congenial, amiable, amicable, convivial, warmhearted, and neighborly. Forgive me. Doc
Apparently you forget 1 little thing that hasn't been mentioned. You are the one that screwed up. He doesn't owe you anything. He has helped a lot of people. I'm sure if there was anything he could do for you, he would be more than glad to. As others have said, he has guidelines, and for whatever reason, your situation doesn't fall within those guidelines.
Yes. I agree. Among other things he has me on the road to prime. Last year in December when I started my journey I had a $500 Cap 1 Classic. that card is now at $2000 and I have 2 other Platinum cards with them since. They are low limit $1000 and $500 (soon to increase) but he told me I could take the classic to prime next Dcember by combining it with my newest Platinum! The other Platinum will mature and by summer of next year I hope to have at least 2 prime with them. I expect a few more pre-approved this fall and I will take them if they offer. So he has helped me in less than a year increase my limits by 600%. Not bad for scores around 600. He has always given me something when I called be it rate decreases or limit increases. Oh, BTW it was this board that turned me to him. Thanks. Creditnet is cool!
LKH hit the nail on the head! It's not his fault if you screwed up, yet he still tries to help as much as possible, and does so with grace and kindness. Sign me up for that fan club!!
