They just lowered the Washington Bond interest rates today which means my mortgage will be locked in Monday morning at 5.75 fixed for 30 years.

It almost makes the rest of our bad luck seem a little better. Husband has to have surgery to remove kidney stones on Monday and my car broke down, but hey, I got an awesome rate.

Well, actually our scores are pretty bad, low 600's. We had to go FHA. Washington state has a bond rate for first time homebuyers that make under a certain amount. We have 3 kids so the salary amount is pretty high and I do not have a job. The mortgage has to be through Wells Fargo. It was really a great deal for us

Congratulations on your new home, and that great rate!

Wish you the best of luck :)

BTW, good luck to your husband for a speedy recovery.

WOW! That is a GREAT rate! We are currently locked in a 7%. We have the option of floating down prior to closing! The lender won't let us float down until she hears from the builder that our home will definately be ready in a month. Rates are lower now(6.5%). I hope they remain low until we get to that one month mark. ANYWAY, wish you the best of luck!
