I am the proud owner of a brand spanking new Target Guest Card (with the whopping $200 limit) received last week. I called the 888 guest services #, and this is what I was told there: It will be two separate cards, some accounts may be rolled over, not a lot of information yet. The rep was nice and was quite upfront in stating that she didn't have a lot of information yet since it is a new product. Folks will be notified by mail. She transferred me to the Target Visa folks (888-755-5856) and I was told that in some areas the guest card will be converted to the Visa card. I am going to call back tonight because I did not have my account # with me, and they can look it up and see if I will be a "convert" or not. She seemed suprised I had not received a Visa card or any information in the mail since I'm in the Phoenix test market. It could be due to the fact it's such a new card - haven't even used it yet! So, I'll post tomorrow with the results.

Ok - spoke with the nice people at Target Visa services and my account is not flagged to indicate I will receive a Target Visa. However, it is most likely due to the fact I just received it last week and it was received during all this back-and-forth on the Visa. The CSR told me they keep getting conflicting information from managers (imagine that!) and the best thing to do is to call back in about 4 weeks to check. Since they haven't even rolled out the card yet (officially to the general public), or the applications, I'm chalking up my experience to the situation being in flux, and will call back in a few weeks to see what will happen.
