I found a car I want and can afford at the Hertz rental car sale. So, tonight I get the pleasure of applying for the loan. Does anyone know which CRA's they use? The facts: EQ 623 Exp 642 TU 574 I have 20% as a down payment. All my collection accounts are in dispute except TU which has a fresh derog (it's a charge off from 1993 but the bottom feeders reporting it gave it a 6/2002 date).
hi, one more thing you can apply at roadloans.com or lendingtree.com. I was approved for 1200 at roadloans.c om with EQF 653. but the apr was 14.99%. and with their loan you will be able to buy from hertz car sales. Their rules are you have to buy a car from a chain delar places or hertz, enterprise car sales. I didnt take the loan from them because of the apr . thanks akm
Denied with a 653! Ouch!! Did you have a down payment? Did you get the impression it makes a difference? Thanks a lot for replying
hi, i am in MN. yes Hertz pulled my EQF as a primus credit and they denied. I also applied peopleFirst they pull EXP and EQF both and they also denied me. EQF 646 EXP 591. thnx
This is what I don't understand. There are people on this board that swear that got 0 percent financing with similar scores, and you get turned down?
Got approved at hertz, at 12.49% on one the alternate banks. Primus is pending and should be lower. I'll find out in a couple hours and post it later. eq 623 ex 642 tu 574
Hi badrep - I have always heard used Hertz cars are excellent and good values. Maybe if smogtek reads this he could comment. But it sounds like you can get the car - which is the issue. aarffff - dogman
badrep, congrats! How much they approved for? I will go and apply again tomorrow with my eqf score 646. The guy told me that they do finance with 2 place. One is primus and other places. What was your exact score? Did they approved you right away? I still have soem collection account and those are investigated now. thanks akm
yes, Hertza has a good cars and price is always lower than the delars and most of their cars are below 30000 miles. http://www.hertzcarsales.com/
I've always wondered if these are good values because you never know who drove what and how they drove it. Some people really beat the heck out of rentals. ?
hi- butch, yes you are right. Sometime people beat out the rental car. but , I asked the sales person and he told me that it comes with the factory warrenty and also 12000 miles or 12 months warrenty. thanks
I am actually considering Hertz when I finally decide to get a newer car. The choices are excellent: Camrys, 626s, Grand Ams, Malibus, Bonnevilles, Accords, etc. One thing to keep in mind: Ask to see the maintenance records and check to see if they missed an oil change or something else. Then, use this to negotiate the price down.
I use to work for Hertz for about 3 years and from what I seen they take good care of their cars. As far as the oil changes go they will not permit a car to be rented if the oil has not been changed at a certain mileage. The computer automatically prohibits the customer service rep from renting the car. Before the cars are sold they put new tires, brakes, do any touch up work(fix dents, paint chips) if needed and do an intensive inspection on the cars. If customers some how manage to damage the car like burn a starter or they ride the brakes, crack the windshield, etc...Hertz fixes any problems before the next customer rents the car. Overall Hertz has quality vehicles.
jr, GREAT POST! I've looked over the Hertz cars on their lots and, quite frankly, I think they are probably one of the best used car deals on the market today. Where else can you get a one-year old car with less than 30K on it for this price? Right now I average 130 mile round-trip commute per day, which equates to about 30K per year. I want something I can depend on. As you well know, Hertz offers a wide variety of cars, not just cheapy econo boxes like Metros, Festivas and the like. There's nothing wrong with getting your DREAM CAR if that's what you want and can afford, but for an inexpensive, reliable car you can't beat Hertz.
I know a few people that rent cars, and they say they beat them, big time! "Jamming the trans into reverse at 45 mph, for example. I would find out what cars young men rent most often and stay clear of those. Buy the cars that the old folks drive.
The good news is that many large city Hertz locations offer premium cars for rent - and these would be a bargain for the more expensive class of vehicle: In San Fran you can rent: Jaguar S Type Jaguar .... Volvo S80 Volvo S60 Thunderbird many others. smogtek, jr - these should be at a good price I'm sure... aarrff - dogman
