I would just talk dirty to them, i mean the foulest nastiest stuff possible.

The poor girls never called me back.

    seemed to work.

Watch crank yankers on comedy central, too funny.
My favorite is the UPS call where the workers are "drunk" and went crazy and burned packages. "Its Saturday, we can drink, don't be a flatliner man."

I have had my fair share of fun....

Also Roy D Mercer, just how big a boy are you? Quite funny and ideas how to mess with people on the phone.

Butch, first of all let me say I respect your posts here, but I disagree with you on this one. Also is the nature of the business you may call someone who is sick and tired of dealing with telemarketers and gets back in a way that somehow satisfies him/her.

I have always been very gracious to telemarketers and cold-call salesmen at my door no matter what the hour, in part because I worked my way through college doing this. It's taken me years to realize, they are getting paid for thier time, and I have much better things to do with mine. Since the time of day these calls come in are my precious few hours to spend with my family, so I respond to salesmen firmly. I've just recently started being rude to them because the "I'm not interested..." line never works for me. I tried this last week and everytime I gave a reason why I wasn't interested in purchasing a $5000 vacation to the planet Mars and goodbye, she responded with "well I can see that you blah blah, so how about if I get that credit card number now?" After 15 minutes (I was trying to be nice) and cold food, she hung up on me. Not only that but I have a sign outside my front door that says "No solicitation". Still doesn't seem to sway them.

Salespeople are told to only take yes for an answer, and in my opinion, unless you can't take rudeness in return, then you should do something else for a living.

Also, companies generally hire young people scraping by to do this kind of work because they can pay them next to nothing, and know that turnover will be high.

    just my humble opinion.
