hahahahaha.... I just had to post this. I finally made DH call EX to ask wtf is going on with a BofA TL that should have fallen off in Aug of 03. He calls the 1888Experian # and of course gets all ticked off because all the automated system lets you do is buy their 'credit monitoring service' or claim identity theft/fraud w their automated system, which is just absurd. You cannot get to a real person. (You guys probably already knew that.) So then, we try another 800 number i found here at CN, and it was busy (imagine that). So THEN, we tried Quixote's 'special' 800 number off the FAQ page. DH just wanted to know what DOLA they had for this TL since crappy Credit Expert doesnt list one. The first thing the CSR asks my DH is "where'd you get this number?!" He said "my wife gave it to me." The CSR asks "where'd your wife get it?" DH says, "I dont know!? well, she gets that 'credit expert' thing, maybe they gave it to her. why does it matter where she got it?" (he seriously had no idea where i got it.) She immediately said 'we dont do disputes here.' before he could say 'i'm not disputing...i just have a question' , she had already 'transferred' him. he sat on hold about 5 minutes. anyway, i just thought that was so funny.... "Whered you get this number????" paranoid much? hahahahahaha its almost like they dont want disputes over the phone or something....* *sarcasm
OK, I vote to call tomorrow "Irritate Experian Day". Lets all head over to the FAQ's, find that special number, and call Experian tomorrow with various questions on our credit report. Giggles and grins ~
Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" i'm f*cking up for it!!!! they ticked me today. i have had problems with BofA card showing past due or late payments with the Big 3. Got ahold of BofA and they requested correction, sent me a copy of that and then also sent a letter to me apologizing. TU and Equifax fixed right away once i sent that to them.. Experian says that BofA verified. I said I have PROOF FROM BOFA! they said that isn't sufficient. so basically i'm at the hands of mr. nobody at BofA who mistakenly verified (or so Exp says). I don't think they even tried. The lady - Andrea - at experian had the nerve to sigh and give me attitude. i can just imagine how many eye-rolls she did. let's make it call and harass experian day tomorrow!
Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" What's the number to call? I've got a couple I'd like to talk to them about anyway. Regards, Dolphin
Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" CreditNet FAQ! What are the address/fax #'s for the CRAs? .
Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" Same exact problem here. Only, we cant get BofA to fix it or even respond to letters we've sent. I cant get DH to call them again, because he really isnt into 'all this credit repair stuff.' He just says to give up. (forgive him, he knows not what he's talking about, lol) anyhow, this is just further proof that Exp must go down. They are the absolute WORST. I bet they dont even attempt to verify half of the disputes they get. and now, you cant even dispute over the phone! and the only reason I'm trying to do it over the phone is because they wont freaking do what they're supposed to do when i send a letter. I wonder....maybe their database shows when someone's file has been disputed more than, say, 3 times? Maybe those get automatically generated 'verified' responses? All I know is I've disputed with all 3 CRAs, numerous times over the past 3 years, and its like pulling teeth w EXP. Even when I have proof, even when its totally wrong, even when it should have fallen off on its own a year ago!! I'm glad they mostly pull TU around here.
Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" call Sally McCoy 800-444-8430 this dept handles CB disputes
Re: Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" thanks, i've got that name & number. it was on one of those insipid form letters she sent me. (btw, sally? you need to learn to read.) anyway, they wont talk to me because its (supposedly) my husbands account. thanks anyway!
Re: Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" the account i am referencing is also my husbands (mine is reproting fine) and not only did they discuss it with me, but the lady never asked verifying information - go figure. maybe try calling and asking to speak with sally's supervisor. tell the person who answers the phone that you are disappointed with sally. at BofA they take a name/number and don't put you into voicemail. i would be very surprised if you didn't get a quick resolution, because when i have done this, sally got right on the ball. (btw, when i originally contacted her about the bogus account, she pulled the same crap and didn't read the letters)
Re: Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" ya know, i'm really starting to think that "sally mccoy" could be a generic fake name for anyone who works in the dispute dept. I mean, why else would we get such different results when we both talked to the same 'sally'? btw, i was very nice when i called. i called before i ever sent any letters. i played the 'clueless, confused' role. She couldnt find the account using the account numbers from DHs credit report. I even told her the amount and the date opened. she still couldnt find it, and she said that she would need DHs social security number. i politely told her that he would be really mad at me if I gave that out, and and she said she understood. I figured this meant it would be really easy to get off my reports. Well, it WAS easy to get it off EQ and TU, because they actually INVESTIGATED. I'm gonna have to sue EXP just to get them to notice me, but i KNOW they'll blame BofA, and vice versa, so I'll have to sue them both. I'm so sick of this crap.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" let's class action them! there is an collections showing on mine as being reported in bankruptcy. i have no banko on that report or any IIB accounts. they claim the company verified twice, but i've spoken with the company and they claim they've never been contacted. i called Exp w/the guy from the company on the phone and Experian had told me that wasn't sufficient proof. i read somewhere that these "disputers" are paid by how many items are disputed per hour. i wish i could find that article/post. i bet these people are "verifying" everything so they can hit their quota and get their bonuses. my mother in law had a bankruptcy and every account that was IIB reports a different IIB date. we've tried everything to get them removed, but they keep coming up "verified". I hate experian.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" Hi Jenz, Just before you're ready to sue these bastards, here's a tactic that is ripe for your situation. DixiesCYA: Bounce on over and see if this might help. .
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: EX: "how'd you get this number!?" well, its only on DH's EXP credit report, and its due to fall off in a few months, (unless they re-age it AGAIN) and DH just isnt into all this lawsuit/credit repair stuff. If it was my account and on my reports, my answer to your question would be "tomorrow". DH is very supportive of all the work I've done, and proud of the successes i've had, and he's gung-ho about my TeleCheck lawsuit--especially if it means I might bring in some $$ for all the time I've spent on the computer, lol, but he's just not as into it as I am. Not to mention, he just started in a higher position at work, got a new sales center, and so he's trying to focus on that 100% right now.
