If the CRA requests more ID, and I sent it, do they have to start their 30 days from the date of the FIRST letter? Or does it start all over again? Any statute to back this up?

On July 3, I faxed EX a very detailed request for deletion of an acct for which the creditor has NEVER responded to me, even after 3 letters (w/ATTN: Kim Hughes at the top). I gave them copies of my SS card and my driver's license as proof of ID.

Today, I received a one page letter saying, "We are unable to honor your recent request because we were unable to access your report using the identification information you supplied...blah, blah..."

Then they proceed to ask for id with full name, current delivery address and 2 proofs of address, SS#, date of birth, complete addresses for past five years, and spouse's name.

Uh, duh! Except for the part about 2 proofs of address and my spouse's name, my SS# and driver's license already have all of that info.
I have made requests to them before with the exact info that I just sent, and I've never received a "stalling letter" like this.

I did a search, but didn't read about any definitive statutes that I could use in my letter to make sure they use July 3 as the start of the 30-day period.

    Anyone? Thanks....

EQ always does this to me. It is automatic. I copied their form for future use. Then, each time I sent in a dispute, I took their form, filled it in, and then provided all the info they asked for. I still got a form letter asking for more ID (the identical letter I had returned with my original dispute). I then just used a red marker and wrote accross the top that I had already filled out their stupid form and that the 30 days ran from the date of my original dispute. They always answered on the 30th day.
