Example: companies push retention

    I was browsing eBay and came across an interesting piece of corporate ephemera -- a t-shirt given to the most effective retention people at AOL. The shirt says: "RETENTION BUDDY -- Control the call!, Overcome the objective!, Make more Saves!" (For the casual newcomer browsing this board who may not know, "retention" departments are staffed with personnel whose job it is to offer you more than the regular reps in an effort to keep you from quitting as a customer.)

    Of course Creditnetters aren't ordinary consumers, so they'd likely have a heckuva time controlling the call with us, lol. Still, I thought this shirt provided an interesting glimpse into the other side of the coin.
