WE ARE TALKING ABOUT PUTTING THE $6,000 CREDIT LIMIT IN PLACE OF N/A!!! WHAT IS CONFIDENTIAL ABOUT THAT???
OK...I HAVE HER CHARGE IT TO THE LIMIT (MAX IT OUT)...PAY IT OFF AS SOON AS THE BILL POSTS...AND SOCK DRAWER IT!!! I guess we will lose the 3.90% till JUNE 2002...BUT WE WILL WIN!?!?!?!
Well, the company I work for, we will speak to the spouse... but really how do we know if it is truly the spouse or not? We do make sure they verify address, password, SS, etc. I dont deal with this in my position, but I know the best tactic is to have her add you as an account contact, and there shouldnt be a problem. I know its agravating, but it is suppose to be for our protection.
The other, you have a point. George, you have a point too, it is not that important. Some companies just have stupid policies. My parents are elderly, and I call pretend to be my mother all the time. I have all of her info. but I deal with the companies better than she can. But, when I called the IRS from my Dad, she verified info. with him then spoke to me. And that was the IRS! He's not going to go against company policy, so I try and add yourself to her account as an account contact. Otherwise?????????????
Here's the thing (my usual Capital One mantra)--run, screaming if you like, but run--the only positive light to view Cap One in is in your rear view mirror.... It's called captivating consumers (or something like that)--kind of like mortgages that don't report--as a matter of fact Conseco (and some others) got some unfavorable press in the past year or two for not reporting at all (i.e--Mr. Lender can't see your subprime mortgage on your bureau and offer you better terms)--- Same with Cap One--we got you--we got you--and you're not leaving.... They contribute to a decreased score to keep you--regardless of your metal grade (Gold, Platinum, Aluminum) or credit limit---I'm sure it contributes to their bottom line--- But I won't contribute--never, never, never Sorry for the rant-- Cheers-- David
I don't know what is up with him. I got the toy Platinum the other day for $500.00 and PFB'd for a line increase. He said he had to look at my report which he had. He wouldn't give it to me till it was clean and score was UP. I have a classic account with them and its got a higher limit. I wanted to ask him why George cant get a card with his high scores. I also asked if they use an internal scoring system and he gave me some doublespeak about a myriad of things. I will not pay a monthly fee for a Platinum Card with $500.00 even if I am subprime. I'll drop it on monday.
I must respectfully disagree. If the spouse's name is not on the account, then I think the creditor should refrain from giving out any information on the account. I think Mr. Cooke is doing the right thing. I would be livid if my creditor gave my spouse information about my account...just my 2 cents worth. Calmest_LA

CapOne sucks anyway. Cooke tells you anything to get you off the phone, and the collection department lies to get payments.
