Well, after several weeks of dissapointment on the credit repair front, this week we finally got some more good news. First off, First USA dropped both of our old Charge-offs. They sent letters to all 3 CRAs to delete our records entirely. This came from a nutcase letter I sent them. The charge-offs were about 5-6 years old. I guess First USA decided it was more trouble to validate everything for an account that was over the statute of limitations than it was to just go ahead and delete it. Good news for us!!! These were $6.5K and $8.5K charge-offs. Ouch! Now they're all gone. Checked Exp. and Equif. and they are already gone. Woohoo! Second, some other recent online disputes worked wonders too! We have had a good 6 items or so deleted via online disputing with Exp. Credit Expert. Don't knock online disputes - they work!!! Third, we have had marginal success with our recent write-in disputes. One or two items deleted or updated that way. So now my wife has 2 reports that are TOTALLY CLEAN! TU = 740 (was 625 on 8/00). Exp. about 700 (was 601 in 8/00). Other reports are in the mid 600s still. But they are getting better. This is a good week!
