I called NCO about a medical collection and they have my name and social security in their computers but they have no written proof to send me. Is there anything I can do aside from validation, to get Equifax to remove it. Obviously Exuifax just verified that they have me in their system. This one collection dropped me from 624 to 549. That hurts.....any suggestions.

    Thanks

Unfortunately not. From what I understand, that is all the CRA need to verify, a name and ssn, or a combination of two other pieces of info.

But it seems that if the CA cannot send anything, this should be any easy battle.

    Hey Love.....

One other thing, this Debt is for a visit to the emergency room and its being reported as open account with a monthly Payment (05) on my Creditwatch report. It now states that My reason for my score being so low is my debt to credit limit is 134% on revolving accounts ( I have no open revolving credit) . How can they be reporting this as revolving. Also they are saying that I have a recent late on this account. It's a collection account from 1997 I never knew about it until I recently pulled my credit. And it's not reported under collection accounts, its reporting under open credit accounts. Any suggestions? I disputed it by phone as inncorrect status.

Once the balance is paid, the account is considered closed. For the sake of this, its an installment debt.

For each visit to the ER, you get a separate statement with a unique account/invoice number. Revolving accounts retain the same account number, therefore each time you made a visit/transaction/purchase of services, etc., they would bill you under the same.

    Am I making any sense?

    Just my .02

I had my SO send a cease and desist to NCO last year. NCO listed four collection accounts on Equifax and six on Trans Union. Pulled her files in April of this year, *poof* all gone. :)

Although cease and desist is small potatoes compared to the deadly validation letter, in this case it did achieve the desired result.

Either way, hang 'em out to dry!

DOH! I just remembered using this cease and desist letter from Bud Hibb's site:

    http://www.budhibbs.com/ceasecommunication.asp

I changed some of the verbiage so it didn't appear to be mass produced and added the following statement in bold at the top:

Notice to Cease and Desist - 15 USC 1692c
