and I have a couple of disputes in. I don't want to order another yet, --will they send me the new information. I know they won't send a whole new report (for some dumb reason) I just want to make sure I find out the results of our disputes as soon as possible!

    Thanks

Do you have a 9 digit reference number for your EX report? If you do, you don't need to go through CE. Just click on www.experian.com . Then click on request investigation. Then type in your report number, s.s. number, state of residence and zip code and it should bring you to an updated report.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I got my CR a few weeks ago, and apparently it expires in 90 days. So now, when I go to put the 9 digit # in, it tells me my report has expired and I need to pay the $9 to order a new one. I don't want to do that yet, because I just need to find out about this last dispute, and then I've gone as far as I can go until I start writing some letters, and then redisputing.

With my report expired, can I still put a dispute in to them in writing? I would assume so, but you never know with the CRA's!!

Wait, you got the report a few weeks ago, (lets say 3 week, which is 21 days) and they're telling you it expired already? Something is wrong there.

BTW, even if a report does actually expire before the results of a dispute are in, they will send you something (either mail or e-mail, depening on how you wanted to be notified) when the investigation is complete. You may be able to use the new reference number (that they will include on a hard copy in you get it in mail, or included in e-mail if you choose to receive online) to access your credit report, thus re-starting the 90 day clock.

Not sure about initiating a dispute after the report (timeframe) has expired. I know somewhere on the report it says if you have something to dispute do it within 60 day (or some timeframe) of receiving this report.

Yeah, I got my report on 5/21. seems like it shouldn't have expired yet. Maybe I'll try again tomorrow, and I'll try when I get the results back from my dispute.

It's been less than 45 days, and you definately should not be locked out. I suggest you give it a try again tonight or tomorrow. Others on the board have said they were having difficulty logging into CE and/or EX today, (and maybe even yesterday, not sure how far back the thread goes) but maybe you're one of the who knows how many who cannot get their report right now.
