On Monday I disputed a BankOne card that showed "No Status" on Experian.

The card has a $15 balance and a 11.3k limit. Based on other posts on this board about the effective of "no status" accounts on your score, I didn't expect a positive change, if anything I thought it might cause a negative(to many tradelines).

I checked my report and my score jumped 38 points to 712. I hope it stays after the dispute is concluded.

Maybe it went up because it now shows a better debt ratio. Good for you!

    Could be temporary.

Your score jumped because eq doesn't factor in accounts in dispute when calculating FICO. If the account is verified, those 38 points go bye-bye, and you're back to square one.

I don't want to rain on your parade, just trying to let you know what could happen.

Ya, I know. I'll repost once the dispute is complete.

I was under the impression from reading all of the other CN posts on how "No Status" accounts were not included in your score, and that therefore they may not have negative effect, but could be postive.

So I expected the worst. But the tradeline has a large limit, with a $13 balance.

I don't know if I'll get more dings because it will add to the number of tradelines, or it might help with my available credit.

Only Experian knows, and they aren't sharing the info.

Therefore I just am trying for an "Accurate" report.

The Account will stay that way til it drops off or the OC or the Consumer proves otherwise, FYI the consumer won't win. Only way to do it is sue.

This is Experian cash1 is talking about, not EQ. As far as I know, EX still factors disputed tradelines into your score.
