Hey...has anyone ever had this happen before? I have my Experian credit report number and when I login to dispute something, it is listing a negative account that I had deleted.

I just received something in the mail stating it was deleted and it is gone on my hard copy. However, the Experian.com version still continues to show it. I called them and they continue to say, it has been deleted yet I can still access all the detailed information from my online report.

I guess I'm not worried since my Privacy Guard report doesn't show it but still, why is it showing up in my report still???

Did you purchase a new report online or are you still looking at the same one you already purchased?

I used the report number off the report they sent me in the mail showing the deleted entry. Although the hard copy of the report with the same number doesn't show it, the soft copy does. Weird huh?

    Yeah this happens.

Give it a few business days and see if it clears.

If not we'll go from there.

I now know what is happening. Instead of deleting their listing, Asset Acceptance is playing more games. What they did was they placed an exclusion code on their listing so it is still on my personal report but no creditors can see it.

Why? My guess is that they want to make it appear like they deleted so that, down the road, they can easily unhide it. Whereas, as we all know, if it is actually DELETED, it is very hard to get put back on.

So, they have updated my listing to NO STATUS, notated the account as being in dispute, and placed an exclusion code on it in hopes that I will think it is deleted and stop bothering them.

In fact, it is smart on their part because when I called Experian about it numerous times, many of the reps kept saying, I don't see it, it is deleted. Finally, one guy knew what was going on and explained that they updated it to be excluded from other creditors.

    More games by Asset Acceptance.
