I have requested Exp to investigate items via their website (not CreditExpert). They give you a report number and it appears that you can access your report with this number repeatedly. Does anyone know whether the report that you pull up after the first request is a current and updated report or is it just the same report that you pulled up a few months ago with the investigated results updated. I am curious as to whether the other information is current, ie....latest inquries, insertions from CA's etc.

If you have purchased your report for $12.95 but did not subscribe for Credit Expert than you always get same report (not updated ) from the day when you purchased your report.
To get updated report you have to purchase another one or either subscribe for Credit Expert.
Oh...one more thing...once investigation is completed you will receive free report and results of your investigation.

    Javan,

Trade4Livn already initiated investigation. The question is: how to get updated report?

The only way is wait for free updated report until investigation is done or purchase new one now and pay again $12.95.

I understand the question, but your response is just not accurate. I check my wife's CR all the time without paying, by just using a report number from a few months ago.

I you investigate a trade line and then go back to the request an investgation link, you will see an updated version of your report with the trade lines marked as under investigation. Wouldn't that be an undated version of your CR? Try it yourself.

CreditExpert is great if you need an updated copy of your CE score.

Not trying to be difficult, just helpful.

Are you trying to say that once you pay $12.95 for single report you can check it any time you want and get accurate info?

Then why they have Credit Expert for $79.95?

and that's my point zb......why spend the money if you can keep requesting investigations and get an updated report online. Now I know that this does not go on forever because once I did not request an investigation for over 6 months and when I tried to enter the report number for requesting an investigation it came back with "report too old" or something like that. At that point I either had to pay for a new report OR come up with a reason that I could get a free report because I had been adversely affected by something on my report. I chose the second and got a new report. I am just curious as to whether EACH TIME I request an investigation if I am getting the latest version of my report online. The reason I ask is that I do not see any NEW inquiries in my file in this online version. Who knows, maybe I am just lucky that there are no new inquiries. Anybody verify my assumption that each time you pull up a report using a previous report number that it is an up to date report?

What he is saying is that if you pay for a report, you can legally request an investigation for 6 weeks. If you click on "Request investigation" you get an up to date credit report. Why pay for Credit Expert? The report you get when requesting an investigation doesn't include scores.

That is great.I am going to cancel my Credit Expert, save some money and still be able to access my Experian report just by disputing items on it.
But definetly I am going to keep my $24.95 Credit Watch from Equifax because FICO score is more used by lenders than Experian score and because it's Doc's bargain...
Very useful info have been placed on this board...

That's what i do! I have CE now for the free 30days(for the 2nd time!).

I agree with you on CW. This seems to be the most accurate and the only one(IMHO) worth paying for. I not fortunate enough to subscribe to their service. To many inquiries.

I click on 'Request An Investigation', enter a previous report number, and I am able to view all current and up-to-date info on all of my accounts, including inquiries that have been added since the original report was made.

That's a 'free' way to check your EX file without buying a new report.

The only downside to that is that you cannot get all accounts and their info listed consecutively like you would on an actual report; each account will be on a separate page when you print it. For me that doesn't matter much, an 'authentic' report is about 15 pages for me, getting my report the 'free' way is about the same number of pages.

Hope I did not confuse anyone.

It is a new report. I just looked at mine and my DH. My DH's report has 2, of the six items disputed updated. Four are still under investigation, it has been two weeks. They updated a Sears account as never late, which is wonderful, it was opened in 1980. The other was a paid charge-off for Chemical bank, from 1996, he was an AU. And it is gone! Boy, little things sure make me happy.
