I have a couple of items on EXP that were previously investigated with online disputes and verified. As a result, they won't accept any additional online disputes. When I try, I get this silly message asking me to provide information from the creditor that changed the situation blah blah blah. Anyhoo... I sent EXP a CRRR letter that was received on 12/18/03. In that letter I disputed several things, including one of the previously investigated items. EXP deleted all the "small fry" issues, but just seemed to ignore the big fish. They sent me a letter that basically said, "We store information about you and we don't care what you think." Whatever. Should I try disputing the item again? Or should I wait out the full 30 days + 5? EXP didn't even bother to mark the item as being in dispute, so I can't tell if they are working on it or not. I don't want to give them extra time by making another contact about it. But, I also don't want to waste time as I need this matter resolved sooner rather than later. What to do?
I would wait until you hear for certain that they either, are, or are not investigating... Most likely they aren't... But keep in mind that if they didn't advise you quickly (i think within 5 days from receipt) that they were rejecting it for being frivelous, their previously investigated has even less legal grounds than it does any other time; and the refusal to investigate is only the first half; they MUST tell you what you need to provide to get them to re-investigate it.
Jams rights. EXP is probably not investigating this. With EXP, you get TWO shots at disputes for one account. Anymore than that and you are locked out from disputing again, deadbolt and all. They say they you have to provide them with additional evidence after 2nd dispute. They don't really don't care about your evidence though. I sent them two letters of deletions from creditors after my second disputes, and they still wouldn't reinvestigate. I pretty much had to wait until the 90th day for EXP to process the creditor's UDF to delete, jerks. I have never been able to get EXP to investigate after a second dispute, although I have read some have been successful with NUMEROUS phone calls, letter writing, etc. Getting EXP to investigate after two disputes is VERY difficult, their policy is no more than two disputes.
I've ran into that same 2 dispute policy, which I have been trying to find a way around. If anyone has any ideas let me know, cause I hate it when I have experian as the report with the most negative information.
