Hmmmm. I have a CA that didn't verify with TU or EQ but somehow EXP is able to verify 2 tradelines with them?! Is it my imagination or is EXP falsely saying they verified when they did not? Next step procedural request? Thanks for any and all help. I hope every one has a good weekend!
Same here. I just recently disputed a collection that I paid more than three years ago. I disputed account on bothe EQ and Experian. EQ deleted. Experian "claims" to have validated. They did it in record time to boot. I just disputed a second time. same result. I'll be firing off a letter requesting them to furnish all information regarding their investigation.
EVIL EXP mission statement should be changed to "To boldy verify where no other CRA has verified before" or "We verify the unverifiable, most of the time in 30 days or less". Honestly I think EVIL EXP *might* investigate once, if they investigate at all. After that your just spinning your wheels, they just look at the computer and say, "yeap, its verified". The EVIL EXP has a definate way about them of just barely being able to skirt around the law for the most part. Procedure requests are a joke, they don't send you out a new credit report whenever you dispute something, furthermore the envelopes they use are not even postmarked. From now on I recommend saving the items you know are wrong and can prove till after the second round of disputes. Then provide EVIL EXP with the proof that they are wrong. If the items get verified then you have them by the cajones.
Yep, this is why I still have 4 negatives on my EXP report while TU and EQ are 1 TL away from clean. They are truly frustrating. Creditors can electronically verify anything at EXP... nothing else required.
I've got the same problem with EXP!! I wish we could get a class action lawsuit against those F###ers!
mine is the same, had 2 deleted off EQ and TU, and experian verified both?!! I'm only an AU on one, and they verified.
Same with me and Exp. I have gotten Sears off of Equifax and TU, but for some reason, Experian keeps on validating. And it is my last neg. derog on that report. It's really frustrating. I think I'm going to send in a procedures letter.
Here's how to fix the problem: 1) Demand a procedural request from EX. 2) Send a request to verify (or validate) and/or delete crrr to OC or CA at the same address provided by EX in their procedural request. Demand copies of original documentation (e.g. signed application or contract) verifying that the debt does belong to you and that you had applied for and are obligated to pay the debt in question. 3) When OC or CA fails to provide the requested documentation, forward copies of all of your correspondence to the OC/CA to EX with a demand letter for an immediate deletion. In your letter, call into question whether EX ever conducted a proper investigation in the first place. 4) Don't sit around and wait. As soon as you get a verification that EX has received your letter, call them to ascertain when they will delete. When they say "no" - that they intend to conduct a new investigation instead - ask to speak to a supervisor. Be calm, listen to what they have to say, then tell them that you are "turning everything over to your attorney for further review". Hang-up. 5) If that doesn't succeed in getting your deletion, file in small claims and sue. Send them a settlement letter with your notice of service.
Thought of something...since exp is notorious for deleting positive tl's when a c/l is questioned or a a blance is not right, would it make sense to dispute an item this way? I knwot hey tend to delete if it is a good tl and update if it is bad. I thought of disputing as having wrong c/l on a neg acct. If they delete, it will be what we want. If they verify, it will conflict with the deletions of positive t/l's that are removed simply because the c/l isnt reported. This would show some kind of intent, surely. I knwo it is the long way around...why mess with it when can start the process mentioned above. Exp did same thing. ALL derogs deleted off other 2 reports. EXP verifed. Hmmmmmm. But, on my report, I disputed a tl with a 0 bal that wasnt showing a 6500 limit. They completely deleted. Sick of them.
I have found that the reason EXP verifies more than others in record time is because they normally are doing the verifying themselves. Using your old addresses they can just see if any of your old addresses that are on your file matches what they have from the Collection Agency or Original Creditor. I went and disputed any and all of my old address, telephone numbers, and all versions of my name that they had except for 1. I waited 1 month after they deleted all of that information and now I disputed the accounts. I am now waiting patiently to see if they can verify the information.
