I disputed my Amex limit on my Experian report, becuase the limit is not showing. Experian told me that "AMEX DOES NOT REPORT CREDIT LIMIT" and did not update the account info. Also, there are account which I have asked them to investigate, and their reponse was "WAS PREVIOUSLY INVESTIGATED" How can I make them correct these accounts? One account I requested that the remove the consumer statement that says "Account information disputed by consumer (Meets requirement of the Fair Credit Reporting Act)" I have no dispute with this account. They replied back "WAS PREVIOUSLY INVESTIGATED" I did not ask for a reinvestigation, I asked for the consumer statement to be removed. How can I get them to remove the erroneous consumer statement?
Did you dispute online, mail or phone? As for amex just send them a copy of your statement with your limit highlighted and tell them to update this so your account can be complete and accurate. Experian told me the same thing about Citi too and my limit has remained since I mailed my statements. About the other item I would call until you get a nice rep and explain what you exactly want removed and why.
As far as the not reporting of the limits, I have read here that some have sent a copy of their statement showing the limit with a letter asking that they report it. As far as the statement goes, I would call ans ask for a manager with some brains. Explain it again to him/her. Or, the only other thing you can do is write another detailed letter to the morons.
I disputed by mail after my online disputes did not work. Should I basically resend the letter, and a copy of my statement?
the other, The only way it has worked for me is to mail a copy of my statement with the credit limit circled. On my dispute paper I had please report correct credit limit and in big letters (because as we know some reps are idiots) DO NOT DELETE ACCOUNT. This has worked with Equifax and TransUnion. I mailed my dispute in three weeks ago with Experian so we'll see. Good luck. Dani
Dani, Let me know if it works with Experian. I'll try to do it soon. I'm kinda house bound right now and don't have access to a copier. Maybe I can get my fiance to go photocopy it. thanks!
