    Hi all,

Well today I called Experian to try and remove old addresses. I was able to remove any that were not "tied" to a creditor. Question for the experts: is this how EQ and Trans work also? The customer rep, who was very nice btw, told me if the address you are trying to remove is tied to an account, it has to remain on your CR. I really need to remove an old address tied to a judgement. Is there a way around this?

    Anybody with suggestions?

Asked her about removing inquiries. She said not to dispute online, but send in a letter. Is this true?

    Thanks!!

    Attaboy,

Curious... did she look to see if these addresses were tied to an account? Strange, because everytime I told her not my address, she looked it up and said it was tied to an account??

    What's up?

When I phoned I got the same story. she was able to tell me the name of the bank for the address I challenged. I gave up arguing, because they happened to be tied to POSITIVE TL in my case. My CURRENT address is tied to negative TL, so when I'm ready I'll have to change my current address first with all my current accounts.

She was nice about deleting addresses that weren't "tied". I am pretty sure they showed up form inquiries, as they were actually a places I'd lived.

What concerned me was that if I insisted that she delete an address, the positive TL might delete. Does anyone know?

Either 1 of 3 things could possibly happen (this isn't EX specific)

    1) the TL could disappear.
    2) the address could re-appear.
    3) the file could split.

What you could do is have all the positive accounts tied to an old address, update their records to report the current address.

When all the tied accounts send their next update, then try to see whether, or not you can get the old addresses deleted.

A good way to try this is to send a short but sweet.

"Hi, this is me the proud owner of account #, I really hate to bother you with this, but could you pretty please with sugar on top, please update the address on your system to 1313 Mockingbird Lane, and update the CRA's that that is my current address. Thank you so much in advance for your kind assistance in this matter, it is so very much appreciated a whole lot."

Ok, maybe not *THAT* sweet... :)

My dilemma is that I only have 1 TL (differnt one on each CRA) that date back over 10 years. They are LONG ago paid and closed, but they have my old address stuck to them.

I'm barely treading water at a FAKO of ~550, so these little gems are like a big hot air balloon for me.
