I disputed a chase account as "belongs to primary acct holder". Both EQ and TU deleted the accounts, but EXP verified it. The account is not a charge off, but it's been paid off and has a bunch of lates. Can anyone advise me on what should be my next step here? I disputed with EXP online.. so should I send a letter? Thanks!
You could write a little note to the cra that you were only an authorized user, and as such, not responsible for the acct. Therefore by reporting it, they are causing you problems over an acct that isn't yours. Remove it. I have no idea if this will work or not, but it's worth a shot.
"You are causing a DETRIMENTAL EFFECT to my F.I.C.O. score for an account that I have no CONTRACTUAL RESPONSIBILITY...please remove the account." If you take them to court...or threaten court...don't forget to add this one---->WILLFUL~NONCOMPLIENCE.
Have the OC send an update to thre CRA. That is what I did with an account with an ex-girlfriend. The OC sent me a letter that I would be deleted and it was taken off my reports within two weeks.
I think I'll end up sending the letter. But speaking hupothetically....as a novice...what if I re-disputed the account as "never late" with experian. I've heard that experian just automatically refuses to delete AUs.. which might explain why the account was deleted by the other two CRAs. Something tells me that chase may not be able to verify this account. Anyway, it'd be nice since this is one of my oldest accounts. Well, wishful thinking
Any CRA can DELETE or REFUSE TO DELETE for any reason or no reason... My AMEX BLUE is gone from EXPERIAN because they refused to put my credit limit $15,500 instead of N/A...
Yeah, I'm just gonna go for the full deletion. So the letter you suggested, would that be a nutcase letter? I mean, when I send the letter asking them to remove their notation on my report.. do I need to cite the law, or just send them a short letter telling them I'm not contractually obligated to pay the account?
Try "SHORT AND SWEET" NO CONTRACTUAL LIABILITY...PLEASE REMOVE. You can always try again later if they don't do it...threaten court, nutcase, stronger letter...what-ever it takes...
I am having the exact same problem and I called the FTC. They told me that the creditor had discression whether or not to delete the entire listing although they had to take me off as an authorized user from the account. Is that true? It is Experian that told me they cannot delete without the permision of the creditor. Is that valid? Transunion removed it within a week? Diane
