Hey ya'll. I posted something on another board about some hard inquiries on an Experian report. Seems two of us on that board had an interesting conversation with some CSRs at Experian that went something like this:

"Anyone that has a contract with Experian can pull your credit regardless of what it's for."

The CSR I spoke with said she'd mail out something to me that explains how they're able to do this. Should be fascinating reading...

Has anyone else had a similar conversation?

Should be interesting reading, but from what I understand, a company gets "blanket" permissable purpose permission. It would be up to the individual to determine if in their particular instance if the company indeed had a permissable purpose to pull their report.

IMHO, thats why the FCRA allows CRA's to collect $1000 when a company does not have a PP.

That's what I thought. I know for sure this company did not have a permissible purpose. According to some folks on this board, Global Source Tech is a semiconductor business, and on my PrivacyGuard report, it's listed as "miscellaneous automotive" (whatever that means). In either case, I don't see why they would need my credit report. If I don't hear from them as a result of my first correspondence, I'd like to see what they have to say about paying me $3,000 for pulling my report 3 times in 6 months.
