For the second time Experian has sent me the letter that they could not investigate my dispute because I did not specifically tell them why the information was innaccurate. Basically this account is a student loan I consolidated a few years ago but all (amount, date opened, date closed) the information they are providing is incorrect. I have sent a letter to the OC listed in my report asking them to 1) validate the account and provide me the full payment history or 2) contact all the CRA's to remove the incorrect account. Any other suggestions of what I could do? If I sue, should I sue the CRA or OC? I live in San Francisco, if I sue should I do it in the County small claims court? I just want the incorrect item taken off.
Dispute the account as "not mine" Specifically say it isn't yours as you don''t recall having an account with the particular balance and opening date that is reporting on your CR, or whatever is wrong with the account. They did that to me too. Sent a letter asking for specifics. They are being weenies, they want a specific reason and they can ask for it. Jam pointed out the verbage in the FCRA. If you just say the data is "inaccurate and incomplete" it doesn't fly with them any more. 3day .
