Hey all, I just disputed my last negative on my Experian report yesterday, and when I logged on to CE today, my score had gone up 40 points! I was hoping that they just did an amazingly fast investigation, but when I pulled my report it showed the tradeline under investigation. My question is will this score increase just show on my ce score and not my fico? Or will my fico go up like when you dispute with Equifax. Any input will be appriciated. scott
Experian scores (CE scores) do not change from "account in dispute" notation, so most likely some other factor has raised your score 40 points on CE. Equifax scores will reflect the change for the "account in dispute" so assuming something happened to your situation on all reports that raised your Ex score 40 points...it stands to reason that your Equifax score will rise for both factors (whatever factor raised your Ex score, as well as the "account in dispute" factor). -Peace, Dave
Dave, The reason I thought that they had done a super fast investigation, was that on my account summary it shows 0 negative accounts and 9 possitive. So I figured they finally updated my last negative to positive, but when I checked the report it showed the account still being disputed. So that got me to thinking that Experian might be doing the same as Equifax. scott
I am currently disputing a collection acct. on CE...It is still listed as a negative and my score has remained unchanged. It is also marked as being disputed. So, most likely something else is effecting your score. Have you looked to see if something else has significantly changed besides this acct?
