I just got done w/ the disputing of my inquiries. As of today, I disputed all 13 inquiries, even though some of them were valid. There are only 4 that remain. They are still under investigation though, so we will see what happens. Just wanted to let ya'll know it can be done! I just sent out letters yesterday to Discover, First USA, Capital One, and Fleet telling them they didn't have my permission to inquire into my credit and to kindly remove the inquiries. I'll let everyone know how that turns out. As for TransUnion, I called them and one of the 5 inquiries I disputed was deleted! They said they are still investigating the others! WOW, It's a good day for me so far!
How old are these inquiries? If one applies for a cc online and is turned down, how soon after the rejection can you dispute as "not mine"?
I disupted a Providian Inquiry from June 27,2001 and it was deleted. All of the inquiries were less than 2 years old, and 7 of the 13 were less than 6 months.
