Does anyone have a fax number for EXP? I know they cut them all off some time ago, but I was hoping to find a bootleg fax # from one of my cohorts here at Cnet!

This is a good question . Experian has discontinued all its fax numbers. I have contacted legal complaince with in exp and they have done this to reduce the number of manual dispute they rcd. I have faxed them disputes and they send a letter stating that we would need to reissue dispute via mail.

And EQ is almosting demanding that all disputes are faxed or done online .... Little humor anyway

If you need address >>> I have a complete list for US

I am confused. There are FAX numbers in the FAQ. In the FAQ I have this number for Experian FAX: (972)390-1680.

I just now called, and I get a FAX tone.

So are you two saying that the above number does not go to Experian? It is not cut off or discontinued. If it is wrong and PLEASE let me know because I would remove it from the FAQ if it goes somewhere else.

Lisa, I have heard you ask this before, I would like to clear this up if we can.

Also if you are looking for a super special FAX number that will get your disputes entered faster or better (not sure what that would be) you will not find one. I would be afraid of faxing my personal information (like SS# etc) to any other FAX number than the one given out by the CRA directly.

I used it last week and almost immediately recieved a fax back saying that fax number was not intended for disputes nor could they direct any such requests.

The one I sent via 1-800-301-7196 got no such response and the disputes were initiated.

Thank you too Waalien. I will update the FAQ to reflect this number for disputes.

Anyone know how we can verify that these numbers go to the correct department within the CRA?

    Thanks everyone!

No, Dave, I wasn't looking for a super special fax #. I also wasn't looking for a way to get it processed any faster. I just wanted a fax # period. EXP has a cycle where they discontinue all fax lines. Then, over time, it seems a few new ones appear. THen, they cut those off. I have asked this question before, and I got a fax number. I used it and it worked. That number, as of yesterday, was not a working number any longer. It is a shell game!

I have never seen this 800 number before, has anyone else?

No TRUE-er words were ever written here :))

Don't you wish there were a super secret CN fax number directly to our own disputing agent :)) I guess we don't have that kind of lobbying power yet.

No I have not seen this # before, only just now from waalien, I would make sure you investigate it before faxing anything with personal info there.

    Good Luck.

If Experian isn't taking disputes by fax, shouldn't that be some kind of right taken away? Sorry but I already pay for the report why should I have to pay to send it Cert Mail too?

You want the receipt from the CRRR, so that you have proof if needed. The extra money spent on mailing is worth it, IMHO, if it results in a deletion.

Just tried to fax (to get old address off) the 972/390-1680 went through (hope they dont try to fax back, cause I have no ink and is on my phone line, I just plug in the fax when I need it - so I hope it goes through.

The 800/301-7196 number said out of service.

Anyone have any more I can try? =o)
