Had an account that I disputed and the last time I disputed it was 3-2000. It was like they totally ignored it. Please help me write a letter to cause them to remove this. Thanks
Golden - If you have a report you can dispute it on-line. If not, then sign up for www.creditexpert.com (Cancel before 30 days else you'll be charged). Get your report on-line, then dispute it. They'll give you a list of reasons to choose why you want to dispute it. If you only have a few lates, say two 30's or one 60 then just say never late. If there's serious derogs then say "Not mine" - however, if you still owe a balance this will be verified. I've had the best luck using this on accounts that I paid off 2-3 years ago... GT
So you say if you have bigger derogs like over 60 days it is better to dispute it as NOT MINE? or you meant something else ? See my post: http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&pgnum=&postid=145231#post145231 You think If the letter doesn't work I should dispute it as not mine or as earlier never late? Thanks
