experian problems

    I have two credit cards with First Premier and one of my cards has a late pay from almost a year ago. Experian lists my card with no late pays as a good account and my account with one late pay as a negative account even though I have made all my payments except for one on time. I called them and they said that this account will stay a negative account for seven years just over one 30 day late. Now the other two CRA's list this account as a positive account in good standing but have a notation of one 30 day late pay.

    Doesn't this seem a bit extreme punishment for one 30 day late pay? This month marks my 2 years with First Premier and never had a problem with them, just seems like experian is being a pain? Would this be considered a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and they are making it a negative account?

    Also on a different subject with experian I just had had two negative accounts deleted and my score stayed the same? Does it take a few days for a score to change as these were just deleted today.

    Thanks

    yo bob,

    I dont believe u can get Exp. on a violation because the account has a negative notation. If someone looks at your report they will see that was a 1 time occurence. As far as your score issue. I though Exp. was real time in updates if you have creditexpert.com

    Can the other CJs{Credit Junkies} help out on this one.

    One thing I think I failed to mention in my first post was that experian has two sections on its report, one for good accounts and another for adverse or bad accounts. The one account with one late pay is in the adverse section and to stay there until 2008. Shouldn't it be in the positive side with a one late notation like equifax does it. To me to consider the whole account as a negative account for one late pay is a bit extreme.

    Also today i checked my creditexpert score and it hasnt changed with two negative accounts removed from a investagation that ended on 09/09/02. Shouldnt I have seen at least a small jump.

    Thanks

    I have a similar notation with Exp. also. It is on the negative side too. This is jus the way they report. It is not really that serious. It would betoo good for people if they all reported things the same.[CRA's}

    I was having this same problem, until I looked closely at the graph. Check and see what date the score reflects. Sometimes you may get a deletion on the 7th and today is the 10 and your score will say 600 as of 9/6/2002.

    Hope that helps

    Thank you,actually I have been keeping a graph chart of this and it is acutally depends on the item. Inq. take approx. 3 days, collections 1-2 days. I will let you know about charge-0ffs once mine comes off. Also note that if something is added that is negative, it updates instantly. Surprised aren't you!!!

    Yes I learned that on this past Friday. My score dropped 3 points when a car I paid off showed up as a paid account. Still kinda wondering why it dropped when a paying account changed to a paid never late account.

    the deletions I got from a investigation ending 9/09/02 are 1 charge off to be removed and a collection account and either have posted but since its to my advantage im betting a week or 3 :>
