    Hi all,
I'm starting work on my Experian report and just began reviewing it. I've got a couple of question on the format that Ex uses...

On one account, the entry has:
    <<Your Statement>>
Account information disputed by Consumer (meets requirement of the FCRA)

    <<Creditor's Statement>>
    Transferred to Recovery

My question is does that mean it is listed as being in dispute? Or is that supposed to be the '100 word statement'?? I have not submitted any statement to EX.

One of my accounts is showing:
    30 days as of 11-1996, 8-1996

Which date is used for DOLA?

    Any help is appreciated!!!

I'm pretty sure that <<Your Statement>> was placed there by the reporting creditor as a result of you sending them something disputing the account. Its not a 100 word statement.

The <<Creditor's Statement>> "Transferred to Recovery" was also placed there by the reporting creditor. It basically says that the account was transferred to collections.

As far as the reporting dates are concerned, the creditor is indicating that you had two 30 day lates in 1996. One occurred in August and one a few months later in November. So, if you did nothing, your last late pay would drop off in November of this year.

If you don't have any other lates, you may want to dispute the account as "never late". Be very careful though, if you lose an old account like that one, your score will drop substantially. If you get the lates deleted, it will impact your score very little since the lates are so old. Its almost not worth disputing.
