Help me out here. I got a letter from experian stating that they were not going to investigate because they had already done so before and it came back verified. I called them and they said flat out that they would not investigate the item... even if I could get no resolution from the CA... because they (the CA) don't even know who I am. As a mater of fact the CA doesn't have me as having anything in collections.

I called back, different operator... same response.

What do I do here? I'm missing CHOD with Experian.

Ask the CA to fax you a letter stating what they told you. Regardless of what they say, they are responsible for what they are reporting. If they have no record on you, then they had better get rid of the information they are providing to the CRA's! I'd go after them since they can't seem to locate you. Once you get the green card back, send a copy of your letter to them (reiterating what they told you) to the CRA's and dispute it again. Worse case, you file a lawsuit against both the CA and the CRA.

Well I'm concerned about Equifax being able to refuse a reinvestigation.

What I was told was that both times it had been disputed as "not my account" and therefore they wouldn't reinvestigate it like that. I said fine, I'll dispute it as "no knowledge of the account". They said no, it'll come back the same. Real a$$es about it too.

But I will contact the CA today, and see what I can get done there.
