On my husbands Experian report, I have sallie mae in dispute, yet again. Under comments it says item in dispute (meets requirements of the FCRA) has anyone else seen that on a report?? What does it mean?? (I've disputed it twice, I think)

In my experience, it means that the oc./ca has notified Exp. that it is being disputed by you. Therefore, complies with FCRA/FDCPA.

so it basically means that no matter what I do, the oc has made it so it stays on the report until they say otherwise??

You disputed this acct right? The reporter of info that you dispute with has an obligation to place this notice on the tradeline until the dispute is settled or verified, per the FCRA. If it comes back verified, that statement should be gone. Hopefully it will be changed to what you want and then it also will be removed.

Yes, I disputed it, but it already came back verified a while ago. I was just checking the report yesterday, and nothing is in dispute, but this is what it said under Sallie Mae. I've been on the phone with them, and sent them a goodwill letter, so I'm assuming that they are making it impossible for me to get the late pays off, ever!!

Well then it sounds like they are covering their butts by placing that notation there. How old are the lates?

unfortunately, they are pretty new. the account was in forbearance, but was already late before the forbearance. We were dumb and thought the forbearance brought the account to current on the CR in addition to bringing the payments to current. We learned a valuable lesson, but it could cost us another year waiting for a house--if we need 2 yrs clean history. It definately sounds like they covered their butts. Well, looks like that shoots down my next plan of action, before I even got started! LOL I'm at a total loss now, except to unleash the nutcase series on them!!
