I disputed about 40 days ago with Experian Online as "DOES NOT BELONG TO ME" "BELONGS TO MY DAD" and threw Certified Return Receipt Mail, a collection account from DISH NETWORK that is not mine, it's my dads account FROM ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO, the problem is that we both have same first and last name and live at same address, Experian says it "Remains". What now? Should I send validation letter to this creditor/collection company listed on my CR? or send Experian a Final Intent to Sue Letter?? Please direct me to a sample letter so I can send either to Experian or this crap Collection company. Thanks! =)
DH has a similar problem It remains because 2 of 3 criteria match: name and address. Do you have the same middle name too? Call them and tell them your file is mixed, and list the accounts that are not yours, they will have to investigate further to seperate your report. Have them put a message in your file to always verify SS# when reporting. Don't get too crazy yet, you have some more you can do before taking them to court. Should be pretty simple, you just have to inform them of the problems. I did it with DH and everything that I disputed as being mixed came off.
We both have diffrent middle names, I told Experian that in the online and mail dispute, still they say "Remains". Should I send the collection/creditor a validation letter? or continue with Experian? what letter is best to send Experian, in this matter? Thanks! =)
Same as Dh- different middle names. Try calling them and speaking to a rep, explain it to her. It could help to explain it personally and demand they fix your report (nicely of course!) Try that and see what happens. Alert them so it doesn't happen again they need to put a note in to verify SS# and/or DOB for reporting.
It remains because 2 of 3 criteria match: name and address. Do you have the same middle name too? IrishEyes ================== No they don't match - - Names are different. To fix this it needs to be 4 out of 4.!
