Now we know how hard and long I fought to get my limits reported for Citibank, well last month they were included and this month they are GONE again. This is completely frustrating and I have no idea if I should start this process all over again or what I am really really mad:(

    Why not just

Do like I've had to do w/Cap1. Every time my limit increases I buy a big ticket item or 2, charge within $50 of the limit, return the item, and my "high credit" is then used as my credit limit for scoring purposes. Since that's the goal (to not get screwed on utilization scores) doesn't this accomplish most of the battle.

I certainly can appreciate your fighting them, and I totally agree you're right, and at the same time, is it worth all your time and energy? Citibank and Cap1 won't change without regulation and their magnetic tape reporting system is going to keep updating w/out the limits, it looks like.

    RE: Why not just

Just hope that you can return that big ticket item... Such a pain.

I did something like that with a low limit card. I occasionally use an online casino. I deposited money to my casino account (taken from the credit card) and then later withdrew the money from my casino account (they put the money that I withdrew back on to the card). I'm a little scared to try that with my higher limit cards since this casino isn't in the US and I'm not sure if I trust them with that much money...

The problem is they are reporting N/A for the limit. They are not reporting you high credit amount as the limit, therefore, your ratios are screwed up.

Well if it were a small line I would, but my line is 11k and I don't feel too comfortable charging something like that, but I do understand your point, I would but that is too high for me. Ther are royally screwing me up here, but the strange thing is I got report 1/23/01 limits reported just pulled today 2/20/01 not reported BUT citibank hadn't updated my accounts since December??

    RE: Why not just

That is strange. So it has been changed since 1/23/01 but the Last Reported date is in December? The balances are from December? The only explanation is that Experian changed their minds about reporting the limit. Very strange.

    Experian - Ask Max:

Maxine Sweet at Experian suggested that reporting any information to a CRA is voluntary and what information (like limits) is too.

I second that!!! The fact remains that they are not giving creditors/lenders your true scores, not including 12K of limits to my ratios is killing my score with them. I know I can't win the battle, but I don't understand why Experian is the only ones that do this for Citibank. Eq and TU have always included my limits from day one?? And they better continue of I will be up a creek!!

It look like you want a high score so you can get in debt and leave town without paying anybody like you did in the past.

Mom - chill until the next report comes out.
It may come back. Its conceivable it went from one data clerk in the dispute "fixed" pile to the "orrect completely" file - but may not have made the database change in time - in essence your limits will show up
    again.

just speculation from working at a large corp :)

Thanks DOG, I can only hope you are right. I just checked hubby's and his limit is still on his. SO maybe you are right if not they have one hell of a fight on their hands with me!! I will make them update every month with my statements if I have to.
