Each time I get an update, I file a complaint with the FTC, because they usually only send me the item changed, and not my full report, despite the FCRA. Well, yesterday, I happened to receive a full report for a change, including a brochure by Kent Montgomery, VP of Consumer Services. So, I read thru it for a little entertainment "Summary of Your Rights Under the FCRA" "The CRA must give you a written report of the investigation and a copy of the revisions made to your information if the investigation results in any change..." Seems, illiteracy goes all the way to the top. (B) Contents. As part of, or in addition to, the notice under subparagraph (A), a consumer reporting agency shall provide to a consumer in writing before the expiration of the 5-day period referred to in subparagraph (A) (i) a statement that the reinvestigation is completed; (ii) a consumer report that is based upon the consumer's file as that file is revised as a result of the reinvestigation;
LoL! what boneheads! One would think it would not be very difficult for these clowns to run their buniness w/in bounds of the law. Why do they feel the need for their adversarial approach to consumers???
The reason EVIL EXP does not send out full reports is plain and simple. Money. I have a total of 6 accounts on my credit report, but yet the whole thing takes 5 pages. I have seen much larger ones. Anyhoos, if everytime EXP sent out a new credit report when something got disputed, they would be out some major cash in postage. Since its cheaper to just get sued, they continue to do so.
my experian report is 12 sheets of paper. costs them at least a buck each time they have to mail it out. you'd think they'd wise up and stop fighting me!
I'm frustrated. My DH had only one derog remark in 15 years, a 30-day late, which was incorrectly reported. I disputed it as never late, online with EXP, and got an email today. "The item has been updated". What does that mean!? Updated, as in we updated it to show no derogs? or updated as in, you are still late buddy!
