I have an account with RNB/Mervyn's that is being reported incorrectly on all CR (I have a letter from RNB stating that they will update my info) I decided to speed up the process by disputing it with the CRAs last night online. This morning I get an email from Experian that my investigation results are in (I disputed two incorrect things last month--those results were there) In this report they claim they have verified the info on my RNB account that I just disputed LAST NIGHT! How on earth could this be possible?? To top it off, the information is WRONG--have letter from RNB stating as much. I am so ticked off right now. I have never had a "litigous mindset"--pretty spineless I guess, seems way over my head and out of my element. This situation is pushing me there quick. I don't have a clue yet if I can take any legal recourse, but you can be sure what I will be searching on CNet this afternoon. Anyone have any experience with this? katcar
Seems like you have been a victim of Ex's auto-verify scheme. This thread is about First Premier, but it may shed some light on the situation. http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=35908
I would send them via postal mail, certified a copy of the letter from the creditor, and the verification results.
If you have a letter from the creditor saying the information is wrong, why don't you forward a copy of that letter to the CRA?
