I disputed an account with experian way back in July it is now Sep with NO reply. Of course I sent follow up letters my last being the intent to file a complaint with the FTC. My next question is do I send them a letter telling them in x amount of days I will file a suit against them? If so does anyone have a quality letter that would fit this situation. By the way the CA that has this account also has never responded to my original letter or my last letter estopple. Any suggestons?

Did you send it crrr? If so I would send them a letter w/ a copy of the green card and threaten them, if you did not I think you are stuck, will have to start over, crrr

First of all, did you send the letter CRR or online?? Either way, you have proof of the date of dispute, so after 30 days they must verify or delete the account. If this is the case call Experian and demand deletion of this acct.

Now if you mailed the dispute(NOT CRR) or called by phone, you have NO PROOF that they even received the dispute. In this case you will have to start over and dispute again.

Finally some replies thank you. Yes I do have proof I sent ALL (3) of the letters CRRR. I was just wondering where I go from here. I doubt sending them proof of all of my letters will help they seem NOT to want to reply to my other three letters. Also if I call I will still have to provide them the "proof" that I sent all of these letters so I am just wondering how I should go about this?

First things first, call experian and request the results of your dispute of the account.

OK update here. called Experian and they are trying to say that they never investigated the account due to the fact that I did not supply them with a reason why I was disputing the account (of course I did) so they said they could start a NEW investigation today and I told them NO! That I have three copies of letters I sent them over two months ago and they never replied. I told them they can ingnore my requests but that it will be a different story when it comes to a judge :) Anyway they are not going to do anything so I need to take it to another level. I am going to file my complaint with the FTC in a minute but need some help as far as my next step. Thanks

This is the first they have ever said anything regarding this account. This was said over the phone I was never sent anything via mail. Well guys whats my next step? I really want to nail these guys they (cra) continue to break the law everyday and it is just sick that they can get away with it. I hope someone can point me in the right direction for my next step I will go as far as I need to go to get this account removed and hold experian accountable for breaking the law!

Well I just filed my complaint with the FTC. Not sure how much good it will do but it is a paper trail I may need. Still looking for advice as to where I go from here. Thanks

What did you actually say in your first letter? Were you extremely specific or were you kind of vague?

    Here's my advice:

#1: Contact the Special Consumer dept. Do a search for Kim Hughes. Send a letter to HER. Explain your situation. Stop dealing with the front line CSR's. They won't be able to help you. Just like a poster has in their tag line: "Don't take a no, from somone who can't give you a yes"

#2: If that fails, send in another dispute. Be extremely specific. Make every good faith effort before you head off to court.

Hey thanks for the advice I will try to talk to this person you say may help. I tried to do a search for her but the search would not go through? If you happen to have her info please post it here and I will contact here ASAP. Thanks again

If your search for Kim Hughes didn't go through, do one for Carla Blair. They both work in the same office. Kim is easier to work with though.

Thanks again for the info. I found her info through the search (went through) so now I will send her a letter and hope that she takes care of it before I have to file a lawsuit against experian.
