    Kitty and SPH,

I called and was declined. I spoke to a rep and then to a supervisor who told me to equal out my negatives and positives. I plan to do that as soon as I get my report, but what do I do in the meantime?

Hey Geo, try what I'm trying - the opt out opt in thing - I think it will work. I've noticed that If I get a preapproval based on a PRM inquiry (usually from EXP) they pull a different report for the app. So I am only opting in on EFX. Then I hope they will pull EXP and TU.

MP, the Blue preapproval just disappeared. I filled out the little form and went happily on my way. I checked my CR's and there was no inquiry on there so I thought, "wow it really is based on my record with AmEX" (spotless). Same with all my accounts. However, I felt so good that I applied for that the Citi plat - they had already pulled EFX about a month ago, so I figured they'd pul EXP this time, and B of A plat - they had recently issued my Mom a card - her credit history is about 6 months old, LOL, and they pulled her EXP report, so I thought they used EXP. Well they both pulled EFX, and they both turned me down for too many inquiries too many cards. I called them both to "discuss their requirements." No way they said. Too many is too many.

I didn't feel bad because I knew that Blue was coming. Well, I didn't get anything. Waited and waited, finally called after about a week. the gal said, well, I don't see anything here, just wait and it will probably come in the mail soon. So I waited, checked my CR's - nothing. I called again - nobody could find any app for me, no card, no nothing. :( So with those 2 extra inquiries on EFX, and a couple more that were hard inq's and should have been AR's, I just decided to let sleeping dogs lie and do it later. That was in May - I had 7 darn inquiries in May alone, 2 of them were apps for credit!!! All on EFX. I give up!!!

Now get this!! I have a hard inquiry on TU from AmEx on June 20th!!!! I have no idea why. I want to call them and stuff keeps coming up - you have to call that dept during business hrs EDT, and everytime I start to do it something happens to stop me, and I forget. LOL.

So, to put it briefly, damned if I know anything at all about getting cards. Don't know how I got the ones I have, LOL. Just a fluke I guess.

The AmEx reps were wonderful, B of A was ok, Citibank was rude.

    Fellow Board members,

Where did Sph88 and Kittyw1 go after we started asaking questions about AmEx? Sounded like customer reps who wanted to generate apps! Hey, you two if you're out there answer our questions.

Annie, you need at least 2 years with positive credit to get them to approve you!

Kevin, the computer will probably calculate your ratio's but a PERSON will make the approval decision!

If you are rebuilding, I was told that you must have at least 1 positive trade line that is 2 years old.If you have information to add please do!

To be more specific, I was told that you need the 2 year history for a revolving line.I do not know what they require for the charge accounts.I think the green is easier than any of the revolving accounts.

Yes, any bk will trigger a denial.

I have perfect payment history for over 4 years, since my bk-13.

Will this mean I will be apprroval for an AMEX Green.

    NOT!!!

    Best regards,
    Sam

    Sph88,

I did not intend to sound mean, but to get all those cards in such a short time with those high limits , I have to wonder. But this is America and anything and everything does happen. But I appreciate your tips and please keep visiting the board.
