Ok I just checked my experian online report to make sure limits were there, they are!! BUT now all of a sudden I have a potential negative, it states my Helig meyers account which was perfect payment history paid off last year, it states it is paid but transferred to another lender, what the "HELL" does this mean?? I have never had this before now, what exactly does this mean?? Please advise

    Thanks MOM

Heilig-Myers declared BK last year. Your account might have been transferred as a result of that. It's probably just somebody else servicing the account now.

If you have no negative history, there is nothing to worry about.

Just called Experian and they said that this account was probably sold to another company, I said maybe but what the heck does that have to do with my PERFECT payment history?? So she said it should be marked closed/paid and they will investigate this, gosh does this crap every end??????

My question too! Does this crap ever end? Seems like you have to monitor your reports EVERY THREE MONTHS now! Once a year isn't good enough anymore! :-(

If the status is "PAID NEVER LATE", then you have nothing to worry about.

hint: 99% of the time "Accounts sold to:" can be disputed off.

    Why?

Do you think helig is going to respond in 30 days for the dispute :)

Well it states tranferred/paid. This used to be under accounts in good standing and I don't know why it now appears as a potential negative. This was my first tradline and I want it back like it was just less than a week ago. I swear I have had it with this crap.

Mom, it doesnot sound like you have anything to worry about. If you did have perfect payment history, just save all the receipts for the possibility that this gets ugly in the future.

MOM- does the new account holder show up on your report yet? If not, that's why it's a "potential" neg. The CRAs are _supposed_ to cross-link these kinds of sales... i.e. old (pre 1989) Macy's accounts were sold/transferred to GE. I had a Visa reported by the old and new banks for about a year with TU.

The "potential neg." flag is just that - I don't believe it impacts FICO score.

No MJ it still list the original account name. I just didn't understand, this has been paid off for almost a year and didn't understand what bearing with would have on me in regards to them selling their account since mine has been paid in full for quite sometime.
