I have two issues with my credit report.

    1. A couple of months ago I sent a good will letter to a OC for a paid charge off that took place in 2001. That is still showing on my credit report that I owe the OC. He stated that the account was paid in 2001 and that he would send me a letter stating everything was paid so that I can send to the Credit burea. However I never received the letter. I have numerous message, however no return phone call. I would like to know if I should send a validation letter to the OC. What would be my next step.

    2. Second problem

My report shows I owe for a gym membership in 2003. I contacted the collection agency stating that I never signed up for a gym membership with the company that they are collecting for. They basically stated the I owe the OC and they can have it removed off my report once I pay them. I then contacted the OC. I asked if they have a original contract with my signature that I signed up at there gym. She put me on hold and then proceeded to tell me that I signed up in 1998 Jan and they did not receive any more payments in september of 98 for the one year membership. To be honest I don't recall ever signing up with this company. The OC then said that if I come in and pay them they will remove it from my credit report. My question is, What should I do, should I use a validation letter. If so can I use the ones that are offered on the other board (Sample Letters). Thanks

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or comments that you have.
