I am really confused about this. My husband and I have a mortgage. The same mortgage account, payment history does not match on my CRAs vs his CRAs. Who is messing up here? The OC reports something different to each CRA? The CRA makes up the information or keys it in wrong? I just don't get it. That is the one thing that has me truly stumped. I have written a letter to the mortgage company because i have disputed and it always comes back verified. Does anyone know why this happens?

You and the mortgage company need to determine that. You need to verify which of your reports is reporting the incorrect data. Send a letter to the mortgage company asking them to correct that data on the incorrect report. At the same time, dispute with the CRA.

I'm going to disagree with you here. You do not need to verify which of your reports is correct. The mortgage company does. I had a similar situation. Among 6 different reports (mine and DH) they verified 6 different data sets! I wrote them an ugly letter working off the original nutcase, quoting parts of Sec 623 of the FCRA.

Worked like a charm, and became a positive TL.

YOu know Jlynn, i might have to try that. I did write to the mortgage company - stating I needed a letter saying we were never 120 days late. Didn't ask them to fix the credit reports, just wanted a letter. I received a letter back to day. Basically says we have an obligation not to alter previously verified info unless it can be shown are in error . Enclosed is you account activity statement so that you may verify the payments that are 30 days late. HUH????? I wasn't questioning the 30 days late, I was quesitioning the 120 days late. To me this letter states I was never 120 days late, otherwise they would have addressed that fact!
