Does anyone know about this card ?. I would like to know about instant online approval (If any)? And Initial credit limit. http://www.exxon.com/exxon_card/mastercard.html
Sorry, I don't know anything about this card, but you should check out the Shell mastercard or visa from Chase. They offer a 5% rebate for Shell purchases and 1% for everything else.
Geo, I have ExxonMobil Card about three years when they were issued by GE Capital. They approved me $4000. I closed my account when they sold my account to Direct Merchants Bank. A year ago, DMCB sold it to Associates. I reopen my account and they pulled credit from Equifax. It give me 3% rebate on the Exxon and Mobil Gas purchase and 1% on other purchase. They credited on the next statement. The APR of the card is higher than my other card. They don't have any on-line access and bill pay on-line. I made a apyment thru BofA bill pay and they received in a couple of days. Recently they merged with Citibank (SD). and hopefully they will have accountonline like my other Citibank cards. According to Mastercard websites, it said that they have instant approval. If Associates National Bank pulled credit from Equifax now Citibank (SD) pulled credit from ???. I don't think they have Platinum cards for this card. If you make a lot of gas purchases on Exxon or Mobil Station, it will give you a lot of rebates. They give flat 1% rebate on any amount. (unlike Discover they have tier rate rebate). Ron.
Hi, Ron. I clicked on the terms and conditions and it looks like they now offer this card in Platinum. Maybe you should upgrade.
Geo, My ExxonMobil MC credit limit only has $4300 and I don't think they can upgrade my account under $5000. It has a good rebate program if you don't carry balances. Associates Visa/MC has a high rate. I paid in full monthly. Do you hear anything from Discover? Ron.
Ron and Miles Thanks for your replies!!. The card is not for me, it is for a friend who has clean but little credit. I think Chase would be harder to get for him. Ron: I was denied for Discover. Btw I never received the denial letter. They pulled my TU, which has no negatives but too many inquires.
Geo, How did you know uou were denied for Discover Card? They will denied you if you have more 5 inquiries within 6 months. They pulled credit from Equifax and I live in Texas. I'm sorry to hear that you were denied for Discover Card. Ron.
Whats up with this URL? http://www.onlinecreditcenter2.com/exxonmobil/ Sposedly its online access for the xom card?? Not sure, but for some reason there's only 10 spots for the card #, not 16... I also didn't see details about a 'platinum' account, but I did see some junk about a 'preferred' account where they offered a lot of useless services so they can charge ya $25/yr for no reason. (Tho when I received my XOM massacard in like Dec '01 they had this form where I could get similar services like those being offered for 'preferred' members...except it was lik $79/yr...yeah, I imagine some people are kicking themselves in the butt). I haven't been very impressed with this card, yeah it works, yeah the bills have been correct, but nothing great, no online access, ok phone access, etc. Will try and get a CL increase in 3 months (was approved for $1500). If you didn't know this, you CAN pay your bill online by adding it to c2it and then moving cash from a linked checking account or your c2it account straight into ur credit card. Really fast too, mebe like 3 business days, 4 maximum. Let's me max out my grace period without a worry. But I'm sure some of you are too paranoid to link stuff like that to an online service...but considering c2it is run by CITIBANK which also OWNS the xom mastercard, (and is one of the biggest financial companies in the world...and in the Dow 30) there's probly little reason to worry.
boden11, ExxonMobil Mastercard doesn'n't have on-line access NOT ExxonMobil Gas Card. I knew ExxonMobil Gas Card has on-line access and you can pay bill on-line. exxon Mobil Matercard is issued by Citibank (SD), NA formerly Associates National Bank. ExxonMobil Gas is issued by Monogram Bank. Ron.
